Ashcroft ghost town
Once a town of 2,500, Ashcroft supported all the convieniences of a late 1800's town. The poor quality of the ore and the prospect of fast money in Aspen lead to the demise and a population drop to 200 people in a matter of days. Ashcroft is now home to a winter cross-country ski center and Pine Creek Cookhouse restaurant. For more information visit aspenhistory.org
