Lost Man loop trail head
14 miles east of Aspen near Independence Pass at 10,504 foot elevation is the Lost Man Loop trail head. The scenic 9 mile loop takes the hiker to Independence Lake and over a 11,504 foot pass to Lost Man Lake. A reasonable day hike is to Independence Lake and back. When the pass first opens the loop provides an excellent skate skiing for the entire loop. You can also access the trail from Lost Man reservoir about 2.5 miles down the road.
